The most excellent Andrea Innocent has uploaded all the images from our A to Z exhibition, you can see them right here... click click.
A little example of some of the work I have in the show at Kick (opening is this Saturday night!):
I fed some phrases into babelfish and then cut them out of paper for the text.
Right now I still have to finish a few pieces so I best be off...
p.s. We start work on a giant wall mural tomorrow, if you are in the area I hope you can pop in on Saturday night. You can find all the details here.
This little folk lover is an art making machine at the moment. The next show I'm getting excited about is one with a bunch of super fantastic artists, in fact some of my all time favourites! You can see us all up there, from left to right is Andrea Innocent, Brooke Bobridge, Me, Coralie Kane, Eveline Tarunadjaja and Sean Morris. We are all putting some pictures on the wall at a little gallery called Kick, in Northcote, from May 7 - 24.
Are there any Melbournians out there? We would love love love to see you at the opening night party on Saturday May 10 from 6-9!
This show has so far been lots of fun to organise. We have been working on collaborative drawings that we have been posting around from Melbourne to Perth, sometimes to Bangkok... and then back again. Here are some more details from our invite, you can click on it to view it a little larger...
Well I wandered out of blog land, got a bit lost and almost never found my way back...
Here I am though with not a lot to say, except that in my ditzy haze last week I got all the exhibition dates muddled up. The show at Kick Gallery actually opens this Friday night. Good for me as it has given me a whole extra week to work away on my little contribution, have I used that week like a diligent and sensible girl should... of course not, I think it's going to be a late night once again...
Not much art happening at the moment, I'm working full time in the real world for a little while which always annoyingly gets in the way of things. This morning however, I have woken up and realised I have an exhibition opening on Wednesday at Kick Gallery in Northcote. It is a similar exhibition to one I was in last year where each artist is given two canvas' to work on.
So I have to get busy. Like last year I think I might use embroidery and I have also heard about some fabric that you can print straight on to, so I'm off to find some of that too.
That's a detail of one of my pieces from last year... sorry if you have seen it before!
Today I was sent some photos by the lovely Brooke from Kingbrown Magazine, so I thought I'd put them up for show and tell. They are from the launch of Issue 3 in a big warehouse in Perth. Like the Melbourne launch, everyone was given a wooden bottle to work on...
And this is me...
Also, I have to share half a secret, a little while ago one of my favourite artists contacted me with a grand plan... a year long collaboration spanning two continents, that will hopefully see the creation of lots of art while also documenting something we both share a great love of. Ok I'm being cryptic I know but I can't reveal all until everything is set and ready to go. It'll be exciting I promise... ok, exciting if you like lovely paper... and blogs... and adventures...
I'm about the head off to the post office as the ink has just dried on four new little pieces for a show opening at Double Punch gallery in San Francisco called Tinyshop, curated by Antoinette Celes. I think this is going to be a great show and it also includes some of my favourite artists which makes me happy. Here is a little peek at my new stuff...
Take a look at the Tinyshop blog to see some great work and artist's profiles and all the details for the show.
p.s. These may pop up as prints quite soon in the shop... keep an eye out if you're interested, they are about 5" x 7" each.
Well... it has to be said, we rocked it... hehehe it was such a fun night. You want to see lots of photos...
