The artwork I posted earlier in the week is about to become part of this show. Looks like an excellent line up and 1000 £ Bend is a great building, I'm really looking forward to it. Opening night is Friday 17th September from 6 - 9pm so stop by if you're in the area.

This week I am in the process of painting a keg! Yep, a big heavy old metal keg (there's no beer inside). I'm finding the bashed around silvery surface is very nice in constrast to the coloured paint. Click the poster below for all the exhibition details, the kegs will be exhibited at the Stone and Wood Brewery in Byron Bay, then 19 Karen on the Gold Coast and finally at Ambush Gallery in Sydney. Oh and the best thing is the kegs will be auctioned for charity... art, beer and a good cause all sound a-okay huh...
'Hopeless Romantic'
Here is one of the new pieces that will be displayed at the upcoming Art Melbourne. My work will be in Booth B5, it's at the Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton from 22 - 25 April!

The next show at Extended Play opens on Friday night and it is the exhibition of my very good friend and gallery running business partner Andy Lewis. He has been busy making excellent bad dudes, so come by if you are in the neighbourhood. It's at Extended Play Gallery, 547 High Street Northcote, the drinks start at six!
Here's my next gig! I'm back at the drawing board again in the hope of making a super new series of drawings for Art Melbourne. It's a big art fair... I've never done an art fair before. Hope it's fun and possibly glamourous.

Thank you if you came down to my exhibition opening last friday, it was lots of fun! Very happily and surprisingly most of the pieces found new homes which was nice. Actually, there was almost a little too much fun had which resulted in a slight mishap with the keys to the gallery and a late start in opening on Saturday. Apologies if you came down on Saturday and found us closed, mmm... do promise to be more professional in the future.
Tomorrow, Once Upon opens in Sydney at Ambush Gallery and I'm sure it's going to be a great exhibition. If you are a sunny Sydney-sider pop into Ambush Gallery (4A James Street Waterloo) between 6 - 9pm. I'm not allowed to show you my full four pieces just yet but here is a tiny preview. Alice in Wonderland was my designated story...

'Black Stars'
This is the piece I have in the show at Extended Play Gallery (you should be able to click on it to enlarge). The opening night went really well. It was slightly more hectic and a little less glamourous than expected... I had to do the dishes three times because we ran out of glasses! Despite spending a bit of time out the back with a teatowel over my shoulder, I had a lot of fun and it was quite a success. We should have some photos up very soon...

Frankie magazine are soon to release a photo album featuring the work of over 100 amateur and professional photographers. I'm in it! It looks very beautiful so I just thought I would let you know that it is available right here for pre-order.

Then... in November I'm going to have another solo show. It will also be at Extended Play Gallery and I'm really looking forward to being able to show in our new space. Oh, I just checked the calender, that's only about five weeks away. Whoa. Hope you can come to that one too.
Finally, if you're a sunny Sydney-sider, I will be participating in the show Once Upon at Ambush Gallery in November. The opening night will be Thursday 19th November, i'll post more sooner to the date.
