We recently moved house and yikes, what a drag that was. I haven't moved house in about seven years, I very quickly realised that I also haven't thrown anything out in seven years. I am a hoarder - I was a blissfully unaware hoarder. Not any longer, I have made a promise to myself that I will no longer collect unwanted things in boxes which I pile high in the backyard shed. I don't even have a backyard shed now... thank goodness.
Anyway, other than that, the point of this post was to address the fact that I now need to begin a new garden. This is kind of exciting, partly because I can plan the whole system from scratch - I'm going to have uniform beds with a drip irrigation system! I'm also getting the bunnies on board in a permaculture kind of way; Dot and Digger - super rabbits/poop machines - are going to provide me with plant based, animal friendly compost. For now though, I'm planting a new batch of seeds, preparing some winter greens - kale, silver beet, lettuce and parsley. One step at a time.
These most beautiful illustrations (above) are by an artist called Pheobe Wahl. You can find more of her work at phoebewahl.com. I must admit they represent my make-believe house and vegetable garden, but one can always dream...
