I bought the Hipstamatic camera app for my iPhone the other day and I am addicted to it! It's so much fun...
A weekend of taking photos of everything... studio mess, rainy day leaves, my favourite keyboard player, the Datsun (and me).

This week I am in the process of painting a keg! Yep, a big heavy old metal keg (there's no beer inside). I'm finding the bashed around silvery surface is very nice in constrast to the coloured paint. Click the poster below for all the exhibition details, the kegs will be exhibited at the Stone and Wood Brewery in Byron Bay, then 19 Karen on the Gold Coast and finally at Ambush Gallery in Sydney. Oh and the best thing is the kegs will be auctioned for charity... art, beer and a good cause all sound a-okay huh...
I just found these little story films, they're really wonderful. One of my favourite things is listening to artists talk about what they do.
Take a look here.
Today I found the work of Marco Wagner, the drawings above I like very much.
I'm kind of a blank slate at the moment, I'm getting ready to start a new body of work. I love this beginning bit.
Don't forget I'm having a print sale that starts tomorrow. For two days only all my prints are half price (except limited editions)... yep half price! So save up some pennies and come visit me on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th May.
Hope to see you there!
I love the work of Clare Rojas. She recently had an exhibition at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco and Meighan over at My Love For You has uploaded a lot of great pictures to a flickr set...
I have a beautiful friend called Rachel who keeps a blog called Pictures Eat People. Rachel and I met long ago but we don't live very close to each other so lately we have become good virtual blogland/email friends. I love the way she makes art and the way she thinks about and navigates life. Recently she invited me to take part in something, well I don't know what it's called, but someone suggests a word and then people jump in and create a post interpreting that word any way they wish. Rachel's word was story so I though I'd post this picture, it's an old one but I thought it was fitting...
Once the week of the word is over it then travels on to someone new to suggest a word, and the next is Aris at her blog Peekadoo. Her work is beautiful too...
I think there is still time to join in here, if you'd like to.
I am planning on having a little print sale early next week. For two days only (Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th) all my prints (except limited editions) will be half price. Yep! If you've had your eye on something for a while please do come along.
It's a little fundraiser as my rabbit Captain Mushroom, who is getting on in years, needs some x-rays and dental work.
So help send Captain Mushroom to the dentist and pick up some prints... cheap cheap!

Here are some photos of my weekend with Frankie at The Finders Keepers market...
Holly at the Frankie stall
Lots of people
Our stall neighbours Pocket Carnival, Flossy-P and Ben Conservato. I know these talented ladies from blogland so it was excellent to be able to meet them in real life.
The picture I worked on and one of me in action (which I pinched from one of my favourite blog reads The Daily Smudge, thank you!).
Okay, I'm going to admit that the coolest thing that happened to me was receiving this...
It totally made my day, and I don't even know who made it because she was too shy so she sent her friend to give it to me. Thank you who ever you are!
Happy Mother's Day! As I was in Sydney today I got to spend Mother's Day with my Mumma... and Grandma and Aunty, which was very nice. Three generations of women demolished a yummy chocolate cake as seen above.
I had such a fun weekend painting at The Finders Keepers market with Frankie magazine, i'll have a big post full of photos appearing very soon.
Something totally rock n roll is happening to me this weekend. Lovely Frankie magazine are flying me to Sydney so I can do some public art making at their stall at The Finders Keepers market. Yikes! I'm a tiny bit nervous. If you are visiting the markets come and say hello, you can click on the beautiful flyer above (illustrated by Madeleine Stamer) to see all the details.
I had to show you this perfect thing, the latest creation by Ann Wood (an artist who constantly inspires me).
This photograph makes my eyes happy.
Our next show opens this week at Extended Play Gallery! It's an exhibition of paintings by Melbourne artist Benjamin Johnson and it's going to be super fun. The opening night is:
