I have long been a follower of Anke Weckmann's beautiful work. She has a lovely way with colour and pattern and I am constantly inspired by her. billabong...

Yesterday I got a parcel in the post... it was kinda exciting. I made a t-shirt with Billabong! If I could time travel to 1992 and tell my 13 year old self that there would one day be a Billabong t-shirt with my picture on it, I would have thought that was pretty rad. The best part... they named it after me! It's the Catherine Tee...

colouring in...

I almost forgot to mention this, but I was just over at Caitlin's blog looking at a beautiful colouring-in book put together by Yael Frankel, and it reminded me. 

Small Magazine, who provide some of my favourite online gazing, have released a colouring-in book based on all the 'small draw' contributions from previous issues. I'm in there as you can see below (right next to my all time favourite Jen Corace!). I'm sure it would make a little person very happy, if you are interested you can pick one up right here:

Oh I just sat in my own little world for a moment thinking about all the colouring-in books in my life. I used to love colouring-in books so much. The ones on nice white paper with sharp black lines, not the ones on cheap newsprint style paper that made your texta bleed... yuk. Ultimate colouring-in book child snob I was.

building a wall...

This past weekend we made some walls. Well some very excellent and generous friends came in and took control of the job for us. It was very exciting, okay not that walls are usually that exciting, but these walls have now divided our little space into a front gallery area with studios behind. They are beautiful walls. They are going to make fun things happen I think.

We should have them painted and finished by the end of the week and then we can take the frosting down that is on the front windows and we will have a... gallery! 

We are hopefully going to get excellent people to put lovely art on these walls, and we will open the doors and you can come and have a look if you like.

This whole process has been quite a funny, one thing leading to another type process but hey, we have gallery! Now to organise a show...

p.s. On a different note, I've had a few enquiries so I thought I'd mention that I'm planning on updating my shop on Tuesday afternoon with a lot of new prints from the work that was in my recent show. The virtual shop, not the real life one you see above.
