Yesterday I enrolled in French lessons and I am so excited about starting classes next week. Secretly it is because I know that once I learn how to speak French, I will grow up to look just like this...
I will live in a little red house such as this…
And then all of a sudden life will start to look like this…
Oui, Oui!
p.s. All of these lovely photos came via Eclectic Gypsyland.
Oh, how I wish I could speak French again! Apparently I was a little prodigy when I was little, learning it at school.. but now all I can say is.. well, I don't even know how to spell it!
I want a red house too.

Yay for language classes - how exciting! I was meant to do Italian classes after I finished uni this year... but so far that hasn't happened! And I was meant to be making an effort to keep up Indonesian and Japanese as well but... at least I use Japanese craft books!
Good luck with your classes ♥

I like your thought process!
Amazingly I can still remember some French from school lessons. We are off on a holiday to France and Italy very soon. I wanted to learn at least the basics to use while we are away, but decided taking taking on both languages was a bit optimistic, so I chose Italian. The thing is, everyone speaks English, so it's easy to be lazy. Either you speak well enough and they reply in their language and you have no idea what they said back, or they just reply in English anyway. Still, I think it is nice to at least make an effort in a non-English speaking country.
Bonne chance apprenant le français! ;)

That's the exact reason why I've been wanting to start French lessons! I'm finding it hard to find cheap beginner lessons in Melbourne though, considering I won't be going back for awhile it's hard to justify the cost!

Definitely on my list of the top 5 things I hope to accomplish in my life! Good for you!

i'm french and happy cause french is a really hard language when you're foreigner we've a lot of rules and a lot of subrules ahah and the ''conjugaison''..
but french surely doesn't look like the woman on the first card and i've never seen any red house like this in here.. the woman one the card is a bohemian so she's in travel everytime and not french...
in any case good luck in your work ! et bonne chance !

Lovely- I love being able to speak a minuscule amount of French (not yet tested on the French public). My little niece has a primary school teacher who is French- and teaches her class some basic French (amongst the usual maths and reading...)

Oh lucky you! I've always said that I want to take French lessons again so I can refresh my French grammar. I hope you enjoy the lessons and that they will lead to a little red house :)

Wow ! Good luck in learning French.
As a French woman myself, I am always amazed by English speaking people who are learning French, which is so, so difficult I think.
Many congrats for choosing French ;)
If you need any help or clues, feel free to contact me, it will be a pleasure to help.
PS : The red house is super cute, but more Swedish than French ;)

Ha ha ha ha...or should I say Ho ho ho ho ho...cause laughing in French is by far the easiest part of the language to learn. Your blog rocks :)

hi
I just came across your blog for the first time today and it is really quite lovely. I am also an illustrator who works with collage, and I find your work inspiring.
I will stop by again :)

How lovely it would be to speak just one other language fluently. I lived in Vietnam for a little while and it's humbling to be from Australia - an affluent nation - and speak only English. So many of my colleagues spoke their native Vietnamese, English AND French (along with Russian, for some). Sigh.

Haha...you sound like me.
I always think as soon as I learn French I can become a gypsy, live on the banks of the Seine and hire a personal accordian player.
I would be friends with Marion Cotillard and Vanessa Paradis and plant flowers in a window box!
Goodluck with it! I'll be interested to see how hard/easy it is!
I'll get around to it eventually....
