One of my favourite blogs is called Little People - A Tiny Street Art Project, posts are few and far between but it is well worth keeping an eye on. Recently the person behind the little people has started a new blog called Inner City Snail, it's a slow moving street art project. Well, this is why I like human beings, because some of them have brains that work like this...

Never Been by Stuart Kolakovic is wonderful!

Okay. It's been a big twenty four hours. I'm kind of having to take deep breaths.
First of all, we went to the Curvy launch last night and I got to see my drawing in the book which was super exciting.

There are some fantastic artists in there, I'll show you more when I actually get my hands on a copy! Then, and this is where it all starts to get a little crazy, this afternoon I jumped on a train and headed into Magnation where I found the latest issue of Kingbrown magazine, then I found myself in the latest issue of Kingbrown magazine...

There are some really wonderful artists in this issue of Kingbrown magazine, I recommend you find yourself a copy!
Then... hehehe, I picked up the latest issue of Frankie...

and there I am...
Okay, I have to admit doing a photo shoot with Frankie was probably the most rock-n-roll thing I've ever done in my life. I'm serious, it was pretty exciting.
Oh I don't know what else to say, oh I just fell off my chair with giddiness... i'll be back some time in the near future when I have recovered from today...
I have spent the last little while in Sydney having a lovely quiet time with family. My mum gave me her old stamp collection, it is a treasure trove of beautiful little pictures that will hopefully inspire some future drawings...

For no reason at all, a random picture of my favourite house-plant, which thankfully survived my absence...
This heat has to stop. I can't do anything in the heat and it is annoying me... I have ideas that need to get onto the paper. Oh well, they will have to keep tight, swimming around in my mind for a little longer. Instead, I will tell you that I have fallen in love with the art of Betsy Walton. Her art is so fantastically busy and balanced all at the same time...

Yesterday I heard that one of my favourite artists, Del Kathryn Barton, won the Archibald Prize. Nice one.

'You Are What Is Most Beautiful About Me, A Self Portrait With Kell and Arella'
This is from the Sydney Morning Herald, it made me giggle...
"DEL KATHRYN BARTON won the Archibald Prize yesterday, for a self-portrait with her two children, but her two-year-old daughter, Arella, showed little reverence for her mother's work. When she saw the work hanging among the 40 finalists at the Art Gallery of NSW, she walked past and gave it a thump."
Here are two more that I quite like...
So I'm feeling quite inspired and as I have all My Folk Lover orders shipped, I have the whole day free to sit and think about making some art... maybe actually make some art. Nice one.
p.s. Thankyou for all the lovely birthday messages! 29 is starting to feel a-ok...
Small is a lovely online magazine for children. Each issue features a different illustrator in the 'small draw' section and guess what... this issue it is me! There is even a Small colouring book and you can print a black and white pdf of one of my drawings... to colour yourself or to give to some one a little bit smaller...
