What Katie Ate is a beautiful food photography blog (I just found it via Holly at Decor8). You will probably feel like eating the pictures, luckily she also provides the recipe so you can eat the real thing if you fancy it. This blog will make you hungry.
Yesterday I made some Ciabatta bread. Making bread is an excellent thing to do. I used to make quite a lot of bread and I remember it taking me months to perfect the technique, however this recipe is quite easy and it turned out very well on the first go. I found the recipe here, via the super My Paper Crane. I recommend giving it a try, it tastes amazing. You do need an electric mixer, I only had a hand held one but it was fine... thirty minutes of hand held mixing action keeps you warm in winter. It also gives you time to think about the new holistic lifestyle you're going to adopt once you become a regular bread maker. By the time I finished I had my organic vegetable patch planned, a small scale strawberry plantation organised and a few chickens running around the backyard laying me fresh eggs. Baking bread makes you happy. I promise.
