kick...

Well I wandered out of blog land, got a bit lost and almost never found my way back...

Here I am though with not a lot to say, except that in my ditzy haze last week I got all the exhibition dates muddled up. The show at Kick Gallery actually opens this Friday night. Good for me as it has given me a whole extra week to work away on my little contribution, have I used that week like a diligent and sensible girl should... of course not, I think it's going to be a late night once again...

quick sticks...

Not much art happening at the moment, I'm working full time in the real world for a little while which always annoyingly gets in the way of things. This morning however, I have woken up and realised I have an exhibition opening on Wednesday at Kick Gallery in Northcote. It is a similar exhibition to one I was in last year where each artist is given two canvas' to work on.

So I have to get busy. Like last year I think I might use embroidery and I have also heard about some fabric that you can print straight on to, so I'm off to find some of that too.

That's a detail of one of my pieces from last year... sorry if you have seen it before!

blog land love...

I just wanted to say thankyou times two. First to the excellent Design For Mankind for their write up about my work, this blog is well worth a look. And also the wonderful artist and blogger Abbey Hendrickson for listing me as one of her favourite artists in an interview on sfgirlbybay. That was kind of nice.

Lovely blog-land people about the place there is...

every one needs good...

Ok this might just be as cool as it gets... I'm in Neighbours! Well, not me personally but my Frankie poster is pinned up in one of the character's bedroom and it has been in the last few episodes...

Neighbours

Can you spot me? ehehehehe...

Thankyou Ali J for letting me know and sending me some pictures!

For anyone not familiar with Neighbours, this is what I'm talking about.

tree hugger bunny lover...

Okay here it is, don't laugh, my first ever gocco print!

Firstgocco_both

Yep, I kept it pretty simple because I think it is going to take me a while to get the hang of it, however I did do a bit of customising with some little papercuts. I made a series and have called them the 'Tree Hugger Bunny Lovers' as they live in the tall grass and are the guardians of white rabbits everywhere...

They are about 3 x 4 inches each and are sitting over in the shop right now... very cheap and cheerful!
One day I'll make some grown up art... maybe.

gocco love...

Look what I picked up from the post office yesterday. Little Gocco, I love you.

My_gocco

I'm going to spend the rest of the day trying to work out how to use it, so hopefully I will have something to show very soon!

Also, a tiny bit of shop news. Whilst searching around the depths of my computer I found some high quality scans of my 'Searching for Romantic Icecream' series, which was a very nice surprise because I didn't think I had them. So another little print set has been added to the shop, including some rather lovely flavours.

marshmallow hair...

Thankyou for the excellent feedback regarding my website! I really do appreciate it. I have spent the last little while tinkering around and have made a few changes, mostly to do with the portfolio page. I still have quite a few more images to upload so it will continue to evolve but thankyou again, you have been a great help!

Sticksandstones
Whilst going through some old images, I thought to myself that the little 'Sticks and Stones' series would actually look quite lovely as a print set. So you can now find them sitting in my shop as a set of four, each measuring 10 x 15 cm. They have been printed on heavy weight, archival, fine art paper and I must admit it is quite difficult to tell them apart from the originals!

dot net...

I have been busy giving my blog and website a bit of a face lift for the new year. You have probably noticed the blog already as it happened a little while ago, but if you have a spare moment please pop over here and take a look at my website:

Even though the portfolio section is still only half full I would appreciate any feedback. Thankyou!
