sesame magazine...

Well so much for my previous blog sign off for the year! I'm back.

I just have something tiny to mention... a while ago I did a few illustrations for Sesame Magazine and I saw today that the new issue is up and ready for a peek. If you would like to take a look, pop over here:

The only sad thing is that I had to do these illustrations during such a busy week, so I only managed to get three done. I wish I had done more! Take a look at the under water photography of Alejandro Rolandi too, it is quite lovely.

merry and happy...

Well I haven't been around in a while, I think it is all starting to slow down here and I seem to be running out of things to say. Except for one thing of course... Merry Christmas and/or happy holidays to anyone reading this blog! Thankyou for your wonderful company over the year, you have really helped to make it a very enjoyable one for me. I hope you have a relaxing and peaceful couple of weeks, full of lovely food and a few lazy cat naps.

So I shall see you soon, probably not too far down the track...

travelling gnome...

I have a little story to tell. One that I feel a bit guilty about, but will hopefully have a happy ending.

Quite a while ago now, in fact I think it was last summer, we had a big party at our house. The next day as I went out to the backyard to survey the damage, amongst the sleeping bodies and empty bottles I found this guy:

Gnome

He is quite large (about 60cm tall), almost too heavy for me to lift alone and I had no idea how he got himself to the party. A couple of days later I did a walk around the neighbourhood and found out where his home was... a fantastical front garden full of gnomes, sleeping beauties, baby deer and concrete budgies. I wonder if he has been home sick. Anyway here's the guilty part, one thing led to another and combined with me being unable to carry him the distance, he has ended up as our back door stop for the better part of the year!

A few days ago I decided enough was enough. I must return him home. So I hatched a plan, one that will hopefully help his owners forgive me and the evil person who kidnapped him that drunken summer night, while also explaining just exactly where he has been these past months. In true Amelie style I sent him around the world...

Gnome_hawaii
A few weeks snorkling the reefs of Hawaii.

Gnome_sanfran
Riding the trams and seal spotting in San Francisco.

Gnome_ny
A little cultural excursion to New York.

Gnome_greece
Off to Greece for a bit of romance and sun.

Gnome_egypt
Then a camel ride in Egypt before returning home.

There you go. Under the cover of darkness I will return him to his home with a little package of photos in the mail box. Dear oh dear!

ships at sea...

Boathead

Just some show and tell, can't decide whether this one is finished yet or not. I think it needs sleeping on, so I will leave you with maybe a work in progress... maybe maybe maybe... time for sleep.

Oh, you can click on it and it should grow.
